Unlimited Basic Client (UBC) Feature
The Unlimited Basic Client Feature allows you to add an unlimited number of Basic clients to your Professional Edition account and manage their training schedules just like you would for any Premium client account. Premium clients still incur a monthly fee, based on usage, starting at $9/client/month. The UBC feature is only available when using the new interface, and you will only be able to access basic clients using this interface. Basic accounts are not accessible in the Classic mode.
BASIC CLIENT FUNCTIONALITY AND LIMITATIONS
FAQs ON UNLIMITED BASIC CLIENT FEATURE
How much does it cost?
The UBC feature is $49 per month, billed to your credit card. The new Unlimited Basic Client feature is optional for all coaches who purchased a Professional Edition account prior to Jan 23, 2009. Professional Edition subscribers who purchased after Jan 23, 2009 automatically have the UBC option as part of the Professional Edition subscription.
What is the difference between "Basic" clients and "Premium" clients?
In the past, all clients of a coach/trainer were Premium accounts. That is, the coach paid for the account through a daily audit of usage and then is billed at the end of the month. This fee started at $9/month/client and many coaches have discounts based on affiliation with a governing body or otherwise. Basic accounts incur no additional fees but provide only a subset of features to the client.
The key thing to understand is that the Client will be limited with the set of functionality that they are able to use, but you the Coach/Trainer will have complete access for planning and reviewing the Client's data, with the exception of workout notifications and bulk download of file attachments. These are only available with your Premium Clients.
What can I use this for?
With this feature, you can offer a greater range of coaching services to your customers. For clients that you know don't want all the bells and whistles of our Premium account, it works great. For situations where you might have a client that only wants occasional communication, you now have a no-incremental cost solution. Group coaching or delivery of training plans in bulk is also a perfect fit. Since there is no "per client" fee, you can add as many clients as you want and interact with their accounts on an as-needed basis.
- Regular coached clients

Basic Client Limitations:

Q: Can I convert a Basic Client to a Premium Client?
Yes...CLICK HERE to read how to convert an account.
Yes. At anytime you can downgrade the client's account to the Basic mode. The client will then have the ability to purchase a premium subscription while remaining "connected" to you on your coached-client list. CLICK HERE to read how to convert an account.
Yes. All Basic clients are able to upgrade to Premium on their own. They will pay our standard retail rates for their subscription but it won't incur any additional charge to the coach/trainer.
If you are a grandfathered coach/trainer on the platform, you have the option to turn off the UBC option and continue to use the software as you always have with premium clients. New coaches/trainers would have to cancel their entire account and do not have the ability to cancel only the UBC option. Basic clients will be removed from your account. Coaches that purchased an account after Jan 23, 2009 will have their account access turned off and all Premium and Basic clients will be removed. You will be subject to the $99 startup fee should you decide to re-open your account in the future.
Existing grandfathered coaches/trainers: At the end of your billing cycle (the month) in which you cancelled, your UBC option will be turned off and all Basic clients that were attached to your account through the UBC option will be converted to independent free Basic Personal Edition accounts. Example: You signed up for the UBC service on May 15th, you cancel on May 27th, your UBC option will remain active until June 15th. After June 15th, your UBC clients will be removed, but those clients will continue to have access to their accounts on their own.
New coaches/trainers: At the end of your billing cycle (the month) in which you cancelled, your UBC option will be turned off and all basic clients and premium clients that were attached to your account will be converted to independent free Basic Personal Edition accounts. If any client was a Premium Edition user connected to you (meaning, they pay for the account), their account will stay in Premium mode. Your account will be converted to "trial" status and access to your account will be deactivated. You will have the option to activate your account at a later date, and all your exercise and workout details will remain in-tact. Example: You signed up for the Professional Edition on May 15th, you cancel on May 27th, your Professional Edition will remain active until June 15th. After June 15th, all clients are disconnected from your account and your account is de-activated. You will be subject to the $99 startup fee should you decide to re-open your account in the future.
We are discontinuing the Holding Pen. You will still be able to retrieve accounts that were in the holding pen, but you will no longer be able to remove clients and add them to the holding pen. The feature is replaced by using the UBC system, creating a "category" called Holding Pen and then assigning your clients to this category. You are able to "turn off" the visibility of these clients in your account as well.
No, UBC is only available in the new interface.
Your billing will occur immediately when you upgrade to the Unlimited feature. After your initial payment, your credit card will be charged monthly, on the date when you first purchased the UBC feature. Your premium client billing will still occur at the end of the month, so, you may end up seeing two charges per month from Peaksware (TrainingPeaks).
No. If you share a Basic client, the coach to whom you are sharing the client must have the UBC feature.
No. You may export their data files one at a time using the Journal "Files" pod, but the Bulk file download system does not allow you to download basic clients.
